322 Serving the Wrong Master

“Since they have rejected the Word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?” (Jeremiah 8:9).

This seems to be demonstrated in our world today, Lord. I’m amazed at the shortsighted decisions of our leaders in general. It seems that they see black as white so often. When evidence from the past or from current experiences elsewhere is presented to them as guidance for their decisions, they appear not to grasp it at all and just go on down the wrong paths, taking us all with them!

There are two “gods” available to mankind (Romans 6:16) and all serve one or the other: the creator God who is truth; or Satan, the enemy, the liar, to whom evil is truth (John 8:44). The one you serve will determine your mindset. All that comes to your mind will be filtered through that grid. Even the Holy Scriptures themselves, which are truth in all areas of  life – personal, business, social, religious – will be misconstrued when viewed through the eyes of the one who is a liar.

So what hope do we have of turning things around in our families and our country? How can the blindness be lifted off their minds (2 Corinthians 4:4)? Groups of pray-ers are springing up all over our land yet evil seems to keep on growing.

The outlook is dark, the battle is raging, but don’t be discouraged, the victory has already been won (Colossians 2:14). You see only dimly what is happening in the spiritual world (1 Corinthians 13:12), that is why faith is so important (Hebrews 11:1). Faith will not only keep you strong but it will change the world (John 6:29; 1 John 5:4). And how you will rejoice to see that day dawn (Revelation 11:15-18)!
