334 A Very Significant Detail

“(Simon Peter) saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen,” (John 20:7).

Dear Jesus, I can hardly believe this. In the triumphant glorious moment of Your bodily resurrection, You stopped to fold up that head cloth! I’d be flinging it aside without a thought! Is this an indication of Your orderly nature, perhaps not usually noticed when we think of Your attributes? After all, You did create a universe that works (or did work) with precision and purpose.

Of course all the order and design that you see around you reflects My nature. But more than that, all that My Spirit has recorded for you in the written Word also has a message for you, even the insignificant details.

When you surrendered your life to Me, did you not die with Me (Galatians 2:20)? Were you not buried with Me and raised to a new life with Me by the power of My Father (Romans 6:3,4)? All that remains for you to do is to remove the cloth from your mind: the old ways of thinking, the things associated with death not life (Romans 12:2). As you renew your mind to align with My truth, it will become orderly, a clear channel for My Spirit to speak to and through you.

You long to portray a true picture of Me to the world. This is the end result of a renewed mind.
