349 Listening to God

“When He had spit on the man’s eyes and put His hands on him, Jesus asked, ‘Do you see anything?’” (Mark 8:23).

This is just one of many questions Jesus asked that shows His true humanity (5:9,30; 8:27,29; 9:21). If He had been using His divine power He would not have needed to ask this. But the spitting in the man’s eye! That sounds a bit gross. Was it necessary to do that!

You will not be all that you can be in My purposes unless you can recognise the voice of My Spirit and obey without question. Your rational mind is open to influence from the enemy and he will use it to make your ministry ineffective and even lead you into danger. Not that My ways are not rational and sensible. It is just that your mind is limited and cannot comprehend the depths of spiritual wisdom that are available when you are fully surrendered to Me (1 Corinthians 2:9-14, 2 Corinthians 1:12). I am the source of all wisdom so you can always trust Me. If it helps, remember that Jesus was sinless and no disease could attach itself to Him. I would not ask you to spit on anyone.

Do I weary You with my questions, Lord?

No, but I could wish you would take more notice of My answers!
