381 What do Others See in Me?

“(Jesus said), ‘Father, glorify Your name.’ Then a voice came from heaven, ‘I have glorified it, and will glorify it again’. The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to Him” (John 12:28,29).

I wonder if people ever recognise that God speaks to me. Here some of the people dismissed His voice as just thunder. Yet Jesus said it should have been a sign to them (v30).

It seems that the words weren’t meant to be understood – they were just a message for Jesus and had no relevance for them – but to indicate that You were speaking to Jesus, that He had a direct connection with You. That here was Someone who could help them have that same relationship with You too.

It is my deep desire that people should see that in me. Instead they most likely see my failures and faults and not realise that You do indeed speak to me directly at times. But I suppose that I cannot expect it, seeing it wasn’t even recognised in Jesus, as faultless as He was.

Your response must be the same as His. Continue to walk with Me in obedience and leave it to Me to use your life how I want. As My representative in your community, your very presence has an effect. Though other people may not recognise it, the spirit world does. Every life surrendered to Me is being used to bring in My kingdom and the final victory of truth and righteousness on the earth.
