383 Using Evil for Good

I was thinking about Moses, Lord. Why was he born at the time when all the babies had to be destroyed? Obviously his brother Aaron was not. I can see it got him into the palace with the many privileges that carried, but it seems to me that it was really the time he spent in the desert that prepared him most for Your purpose for him. In any case, You could use anyone, not just the most talented.

Don’t you realise that even natural ability comes from Me? That does not mean that any one person is of more value than another, but only that My purposes for them are different. Surrendered to Me, the greatest intellect or the simplest faith has a part to play in reaching the world with the good news of salvation.

But getting back to Moses, of course My heart was broken by the wholesale murder of those babies. It had nothing to do with My plan to get Moses into the palace. But I knew the evil idea of Pharaoh and used it to bring about his own defeat. I used it to stir up the desire for freedom in My people who were becoming used to being enslaved. I used it to show My authority over the gods of the Nile and the Egyptian nation. And I have used it to teach My children through the ages many lessons for their lives, right down to you.

You never need to fear what the evil one will bring into your life. The greater the attack, the more I am glorified as I turn it around to his defeat. That’s why you are instructed to rejoice in suffering (1 Peter 4:13).
