292 Judge Only Yourself

“Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, ‘There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath’” (Luke 13:14).

I understand this man. I tend this way. Legalism comes naturally to me. If the Bible says it, it must be done and there are no exceptions. It is a form of bondage as strong as that which bound the woman whom Jesus had just healed. But Jesus was not gentle with this man as I want You to be with me. He called him a hypocrite. The passage says He humiliated him and his colleagues (vv15-17).

Remember when I humiliate, humble, you? It happens when the scales are lifted from your eyes and you see yourself as you really are. This is a part of healing, of growing to be all that I want you to be. This man had the choice of facing his hypocritical behaviour or continuing to stay as he was. He could choose life or death.

Don’t judge others. I deal with each one in love. Concentrate on your own responses to Me.
