307 Freed from Sin

“We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin – because anyone who has died has been freed from sin” (Romans 6:6,7).

For most of my Christian life I have been struggling to live the Christian life. So unable to believe this verse and so many others that complement it, because my life did not line up with it. At last I am starting to see the truth, and daring to believe it. I am born into Your family (Galatians 3:26), I have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:12,13). Nothing can alter that.

What joy it brings to My heart to hear you say that!

Yet somehow the wind still gets knocked out of my sails when I act or react in the flesh instead of in Your Spirit of love. Then I seem to lose the reality of my wonderful relationship with You.

It then comes back to the same principle: believing what My word says. Nothing you do can undo what Christ has done for you, but any sin in your life puts up a barrier to My ability to bless you. All you have to do is confess (1 John 1:9). You know what confess means: to agree with. When you humble yourself to agree with My assessment of your actions, forgiveness is instantly there. The slate is wiped clean, there is no record of your transgression. You can walk again in the freedom of all that I have planned for you. And don’t listen to any voice but Mine.
